Your Chamber
membership signifies a sound, ethical approach to doing business
in today's fast-paced marketplace. Your customers will
recognize it as an indication of your interest, involvement and
investment in our community and becoming an active part of the
Chamber of Commerce will give you the opportunity to make a
difference in your community.
In addition, a sign with your company name can be added to the
Chamber sign that is located at the Marina. You will also
get a free bold listing in the new Lacon Area Directory and be
listed on this website. (with a link to your email address and/or
website)All new businesses can take part in
an official ribbon cutting ceremony, complete with local newspaper
coverage.
The Lacon Chamber of Commerce meets
the first Wednesday of every month at
8 a.m. at the Marshall County Historical Society. All
members are invited and encouraged to take part in the monthly
meetings as well as any projects that we sponsor.
The Chamber sponsors numerous
events designed to enhance our community as well as help our
youth. Some of those events include:
- Santa Parade
- River Roads Fest
- Holiday Preview
- Holiday Home Tour
- Mother's Day Contest
- Father's Day Contest
We also award a $500.00 college
scholarship to a Midland High School student annually. We
maintain the Chamber Sign at the Marina and are always open to any
new ideas that the community may have. We also support the Lacon Retailers Committee as well. "Lacon Bucks" were
started by the Chamber to encourage local spending. Lacon
Bucks can be bought and used in any Lacon business and redeemed at
the First National Bank of Lacon
